Some brand new Hitman Absolution info has been revealed, and boy are they interesting.

• Game is primarily set in Chicago
• Begins with Agent 47 on the run from the Chicago police
• IO’s Glacier 2 engine supposedly offer fantastic facial animations
• Use of cover mechanics.
• Bigger focus on staying hidden, rather than staying in disguise (sounds a lot like Splinter Cell: Conviction so far)
• Instinct mode highlights enemies and their patrols through walls, like Arkham Asylum’s detective mode.
• It’s powered by silent take downs
• No big scale map screen as in previous games.
• Mini map still highlights points of interest
• New threat meter is a grey circle that wavers in directions where enemies may spot 47 (again as in Conviction)
• There will be lots of improvised weapons players can use that are unique to each location
• Players can take hostages as human shields as in previous games
• This hostage taking prompted some complex AI patterns in the demo, with cops fanning out realistically to keep sight of the target.
• Levels will be divided into checkpoints for the first time.
• Some stages will be as large as in old Hitman games, others will be much smaller
• New structure allows for greater variety and complex set pieces, as well as story driven moments
• Having a disguise doesn’t mean you’ll be able to fool everybody
• Plot will be more personal to 47, with the Hitman knowing some of his targets.
• 47 and Diana will have new voice actors
• Hand to hand combat will be involved.
• Instinct mode increases disguise effectiveness. As cops in the demo questions 47′s movements while he’s disguised as a police man, he enters instinct and uses his police radio to fool them
• Each disguise has safe spots, like a box of doughnuts for police men.
• You’ll be completely safe in that disguise for as long as you want
• New engine offers on the fly editing for AI. AI can also affect group behavior now.
• Whatever you do, the AI will react to that dynamically
• The way crowds will be used will be different

Crytek recently updated their MyCrysis website to include information and screenshots of the upcoming patch that would include DirectX11 capabilities and better textures, however it seems that some users were able to hack into the web page and download the patch before its release.

Even though some were lucky enough to get the patch they still will not be able to run them due to the patches needing the 1.9 update to run which will be released next week.

They said:

As a number of users were able to download the DX11 and High res texture packages from our test environment we would like to take this opportunity to explain how these files will work and our future plans via a short FAQ;

Where can I download these files? 

We have removed the files from our websites until the full release date.

How do I install these packs?Both the DX11 and High Res texture packages require Crysis 2 PC Patch 1.9 to work.  Without this patch they cannot be installed.

When will patch 1.9 be available?

Crysis 2 PC patch 1.9 AND the DX11 and High Res Texture packages will be made available on MyCrysis.com on Monday June 27th!

The Crysis 2 DirectX11 website has been updated, this makes us think it will be coming out very, very soon. Right now you cant download it obviously since its not available but hopefully it soon will be.

The DX11 Ultra Upgrade is a free visual improvement add-on introducing DirectX 11 support as well as a wealth of graphical improvements and performance optimization for both DX11 and DX9 API’s.

When using the new “Ultra” spec, DX9 platforms will beneficiate from realtime local reflections and contacts shadows. The owners of DX11 platforms, in addition, will be able to enjoy hardware tessellation (requires the installation of the “Tessellation Package”), parallax occlusion mapping and several improvements for shadows, water, particles, depth of field and motion blur.

To do this the PS Vita uses Skype, this way you can call your friends no matter where you are.

there is no news on whether it will be 3G only but we would expect it to be on both variations of the device as you can make calls over WiFi much easier than 3G.

John Carmack id co-founder and lead programmer, told Gamasutra at E3 that the idTech 5 does not work with open world games, you may remember the idTech 5 being mentioned, this is because it is the engine used to power Bethesda’s new game Rage.

Many fans have been saying thy want an open world game with this engine but it looks like its not going to happen.

Here is what John Carmack said:

“The megatexture direction [in id Tech 5] has some big wins, but it’s also fairly restrictive on certain types of games,” he said. “It would be a completely unacceptable engine to do [Bethesda's Elder Scrolls V:] Skyrim in, where you’ve got the whole world, walking across these huge areas.”

Since the reveal of the Nintendo Wii U and the fact that it will be able to use discs that can store up to 25GB of data, is it time for Microsoft to step up their game in terms of Xbox 360 disc storage?

Yesterday at Nintendo’s Press Conference at E3 they finally revealed their brand new next-gen console that achieved some pretty amazing and innovative things, however a few hours later it was revealed that the Wii U would be able to read discs that could hold up to 25GB of data on one disc.

As we all know the PS3′s Blue-Ray disc can hold up to 50GB of data and more if they decide to add multiple layers to the disc.

In comparison to the Blu-Ray the Xbox 360 can hold about 8GB of data and with its new update it can hold slightly more (up to 10GB).

So as we can see the PS3 and the Nintendo Wii can hold way more data than the Xbox 360. So many of you might be wondering, so what? well if there is less space then developers will not be able to fit as many textures into the disc with out high compression and also games just wont be that high of quality. Also if you are thinking “so what, games have been good enough on the Xbox such as HALO:Reach .etc” well then would you rather have more space so that developers atleast have the option to work harder and use that space or would you want a developer that has a great game and its great looking but they have to compress it and sacrifice the looks or split the game into discs?

From what we can tell we hope that Microsoft finds a way to ncrease the disc space on their Discs without costing the gamers. If not then hopefully the next gen Xbox 360 will have more space on its discs.
